i. Send your brother a rakhi puja thali, complete with a rakhi, tikka, diya, roli chawal and the works that go with it.

It will lend a touch of tradition to the occasion, besides reminding him of home.

ii. The Internet has made gifting a whole lot simpler. A box of his/ her favourite mithai or chocolates is a great idea if your sibling is known for his/ her sweet tooth.

You can order it online and get it delivered just on time for the occasion.

iii. Order a coveted book or some music and get it delivered on D-day.

iv. A gift hamper is a great idea too. It could include an assortment of everything ranging from stationary to toiletries to cosmetics, etc, all specially ordered online for your sibling.

Last but not the least, remember gifts are expressions of love, and not the means to it.

So even a nice little card with a sentimental, a genuine message can go a long way in strengthening your relationship.
