Daredevil Ajay wants to direct

Ajay Devgan After producing Raju Chacha, Ajay Devgan has decided to switch over to directing too.

However, he would like to first finish his current assignments as an actor before switching professions.

Will he direct himself?, you ask. We don't know yet, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. After Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, it would be a crime if Ajay quit acting.

One thing's certain, with Ajay's reputation for pulling off his daredevil stunts, his directorial debut will surely be one action packed adventure.

Serial no-no

Johny Lever Johny Lever, now a mandatory in every Hindi flick, refuses to shoot for television. It's not the money, but the bizzare serial shooting schedules that have sent the actor running for cover, despite plum role offers in several small screen productions.

He said that with the pressures of nine to nine shoots, he'd land up in some hospital, he just couldn't handle the stress.

Lever, who plays Aslambhai, the aspiring filmstar local dada, in the soon to be released Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega said he preferred the leisurely pace of cinema to that of television.

The actor who started out as a mimicry artist, expressed his gratitude to Naseeruddin Shah, who allowed him to steal the limelight in Jalwa which helped him establish himself.

Shifting focus

Neena Gupta After directing Saans Neena Gupta has decided to move on to the greener pastures of Hindi cinema.

She moves on to the other side of the camera, after gaining a rep for her acting powress and her tryst with directing her serials Saans, Son Pari and Siski.

The film will be based on the Mahabharata but will have a contemporary twist.

Over the top

Tusshar After five gruelling months, probably worst phase for the Hindi film industry, the industry has finally struck gold with the universal hit Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai.

Jeetendra, overzealous in his praise for Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai has even compared director Satish Kaushik to Mehboob Khan.

He's over the top, coz producer Vashu Bhagnani has decided to cast Tusshar in his next project too!

Mitchelle Yeoh for Hindi musical

After Nicole Kidman who danced to Chamma Chamma in Moulin Rouge, the Hindi film industy found itself another international star vicitm.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon actress, Michelle Yeoh, has fallen under its spell, too.

Face Off director John Woo has already promised her to direct a Hindi musical with her in the lead. Thanks to Cannes and Toronto, Indian films seem to getting a whole lot of attention.

Kate - No Mother Teresa

Kate Winslet Titanic Kate Winslet who recently starred in Quills, was rumoured to play the lead in the Mother Teresa biographical film.

Kate has denied all the stories.

But director Rajiv Nath claimed that his friends were in touch with the Titanic actress for his upcoming film based on the life of Mother Teresa. He said that it would be shot in Calcutta with real life characters like Jyoti Basu, the former West Bengal Chief Minister.

The film will be similar to Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, he said.

A father always worries

Raj Babbar Raj Babbar is the latest member of the Anxious Papa Club. Babbar, is keeping his fingers crossed over daughter Juhi's launch.

Juhi stars as the female lead opposite singer Sonu Nigam in Babbar's own Kaash... Aap Hamare Hote.

Incidentally, Raj Babbar also celebrates his birthday on the 23rd of this month. Happy Birthday Babbar saheb!
