The message is clear from the voter

April 8, 2009
Chitradurga is just 100 km away from the highest waterfall in India, yet the largest constituency in Karnataka has the worst water problem in the state.

Even as candidates walk from door to door seeking valuable votes, one gets a preview to empty water pots lined up in front of dry taps. The message is clear from the voter -- 'We will vote for the one who solves our water woes. Let them do this first and then let us talk about the rest of the problems.'

Chitradurga (reserved SC constituency), which is around a three hour drive from Bengaluru on the Golden Quadrilateral has six assembly constituencies. There are 11 candidates in fray, which include six independent candidates.
