Vijayakanth, the messiah of the rural youth
Having married at the age of 15, 19-year-old Vinolia is already a mother of two. But, there was still some childishness left in her. She shyly admitted that it was Vijayakanth who was her hero. "I don't know MGR but I have seen his films. Vijayakanth is like MGR. He does a lot of good for the poor in the films. So, I hope he will do that when he comes to power too. My vote is for him."
Till I met Santha, I was under the impression that only young men and women were attracted to Vijayakanth. Santha who has been a supporter of the DMK till now, announced that she was going to vote for Vijayakanth. "All these years, all the others have looted us and became rich. Let him also be there for at least ten days. But I am sure that he will not loot us. He will help the poor."
