Naygawahan village welcomes Bhujbal with beating drums, arches, garlands, crackers. NCP flags are everywhere.
The village pramukh (chief) garlands Bhujbal as a small crowd - men, women, children - watch in awe. Local make small speeches emphasising on his status in state politics and the benefits it can bring to their village.
In his brief speech, Bhujbal touches upon the issues that decided the result of the assembly election in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh - bijli, sadak, pani.
It's amazing how something so fundamental can enthuse voters. But then isn't politics all about making the same old promises sound fresh every five years?
