GT 84-3 (12 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

Eshan Malinga is brought back into the attack, and Sai Sudharsan starts cautiously--cutting one towards midwicket but finding no gap. He then picks up a single with a neat drive to mid-off.

Washington Sundar keeps the rotation going, nudging one to long-off for a single. Sudharsan then finds a bit of room and squeezes one past extra cover for a couple, before shifting gears completely--he launches a massive six, clearing the ropes with authority.

Next ball is struck hard again by Sudharsan straight back, and Sundar's quick reflexes unintentionally save four runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad as he gets in the way while trying to evade it.

A strong over overall--10 runs from it, with Gujarat Titans moving to 78 for 3 after 11 overs.

Shivang Kumar is introduced into the attack as spin comes into play. Sundar works one to deep square leg for a single, while Sudharsan sees a wide go down the leg side. Another wide follows. He then takes a single, before Sundar is pushed to extra cover but finds no run. A dot ball ends the over.

A tight effort--just 6 runs from it. After 12 overs, GT are 84 for 3.

GT 68-3 (10 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

Strategic timeout taken as Gujarat Titans start building momentum after a slow powerplay. Sunrisers Hyderabad will still be pleased with their control so far, keeping things tight at key moments.

Sakib is introduced into the attack. Sai Sudharsan works one towards mid-wicket for a single. Nishant Sindhu keeps things moving with a single of his own, but Sudharsan then finds the fence with a well-timed boundary. A quick single follows to end the over--7 runs from it as GT reach 63 for 2 after 9 overs.

Then comes the change, and Pat Cummins strikes again.

Sudharsan is beaten on one that goes through to the keeper but still picks up a single next ball. The big moment arrives when Nishant Sindhu looks to go over the top--he chips it straight to Heinrich Klaasen at long-off.

A mistimed lofted shot ends his promising knock of 22 off 14 balls. A crucial breakthrough for SRH right after the timeout, just when GT were starting to settle.

Washington Sundar walks in after the setback and wastes no time making an impact -- he gets off the mark in style with a crisp boundary, showing intent straight away.

He then settles down, defending the next couple of deliveries solidly to rebuild after the wicket.

It's a disciplined over overall from Sunrisers Hyderabad, with control in the middle overs continuing to make life difficult for Gujarat Titans.

Just 5 runs and a wicket from the over. After 10 overs, GT are 68 for 3.

GT 56-2 (8 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

Nitish Kumar Reddy continues after the change, but Sai Sudharsan starts cautiously--mistiming one into the covers where there's no gap, no run there. He then finds a single, cutting it fine to deep backward point.

Nishant Sindhu then injects real energy into the innings--he launches one for six, showing intent and timing. A moment of luck follows as a mistimed shot nearly results in a catch, but the fielder at the boundary can't control it cleanly and prevents a maximum. Sindhu adds a couple more before finishing the over strongly with a crisp boundary.

A big over for Gujarat Titans--13 runs off it, giving them some much-needed momentum. After 7 overs, they are 47 for 2.

Sunrisers Hyderabad respond by bringing on their standout bowler of the season, Eshan Malinga.

He starts with an instant impact--Sai Sudharsan greets him with a boundary, and GT bring up their 50 in style. Sudharsan rotates strike with a single, while Sindhu is beaten on the outside edge on the next delivery. He manages a single, and Sudharsan caps the over with a couple more runs before a quiet final ball.

Nine runs from it--Gujarat Titans move to 56 for 2 after 8 overs, starting to find some rhythm.

Hinge strikes again, Buttler departs for 7

GT 34-2 (6 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

Hinge finishes the powerplay with drama as Sunrisers Hyderabad go up for a caught-behind appeal against Jos Buttler.

The umpire initially signals wide, but SRH go for the review straight away. And it proves decisive.

Replays confirm it's a fair delivery, with a clear spike as the ball passes the bat. Ishan Kishan looks confident behind the stumps, and the technology backs him up.

Buttler has to walk back--out for 7 off 11 balls. A big early blow for Gujarat Titans as SRH strike right.

Nishant Sindhu walks in after the early strike and begins with a watchful defence to settle in.

He soon shows intent -- picking up rhythm quickly as he leans into one and drives it for four, showing positive early signs. Attempting to be inventive next, he goes for a ramp but misses the line completely.

He finishes the over strongly though, timing another delivery cleanly into the gap for a boundary to close things out.

A mixed over for Gujarat Titans -- 8 runs and a wicket from it as they move to 34 for 2 after 6 overs.

SRH bowl tight powerplay overs

GT 26-1 (5 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

A change of ends for Pat Cummins, and the intensity only rises.

Sai Sudharsan opens the over with a soft jab to deep backward point for a single. Jos Buttler follows with a controlled push of his own, picking up a couple as he begins to settle. Cummins keeps probing--beats Buttler with one that he leaves alone, then again as the Englishman swings and misses.

A tight delivery on the body thuds into the pads as Buttler tries to tuck it away, and they sneak a single off the ricochet. Sudharsan then calmly returns the final ball straight back to the bowler.

Just 4 runs from the over--Sunrisers Hyderabad keep things very much under control.

Nitish Kumar Reddy is back into the attack, and Buttler wastes no time--greets him with a crisp boundary. He defends the next, tries a cheeky switch-hit but is struck on the pads for just a single. Sudharsan remains compact at the other end, blocking one and attempting a scoop that doesn't come off.

SRH continue to apply pressure--another disciplined over as just 5 runs come off it. After 5 overs, Gujarat Titans are 26 for 1.

Gill departs for 5 in Ahmedabad

GT 17-1 (3 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

Gujarat Titans continue their innings with Nitish Kumar Reddy joining Pat Cummins in the new-ball attack for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The over begins on a rough note for Hyderabad as Sai Sudharsan greets Reddy with a confident boundary, easing the pressure instantly. He follows it up with a soft chip towards mid-on--just short of the fielder--and then picks up a quick single behind square to keep things ticking.

Shubman Gill then gets a big moment of luck. He slices one straight back at the bowler, but it's a half-chance that goes down--looked like a simple reflex catch, and had it stuck, Gill was gone early. Instead, he makes the most of the lifeline, finishing the over with a crisp boundary to get off the mark in style.

A slightly scrappy over for SRH in the end--10 runs from it, and Gujarat Titans move to 15 without loss after 2 overs.

Shubman Gill is gone!

Hinge comes into the attack and immediately makes an impact. Gill looks to work it away with a flick but gets it wrong -- misses the timing completely and the ball sneaks through, brushing the pad on its way to the keeper.

Behind the stumps, Ishan Kishan reacts quickly and dives to his left, but can't hold on cleanly. It spills out, and the moment is still alive.
That's when Heinrich Klaasen steps in -- alert, sharp, and calm --completing the catch to send the GT skipper packing.

A massive breakthrough for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shubman Gill departs for 5 off 7 balls, and SRH strike early in this high-stakes contest.

Jos Buttler walks in with pressure already building after the early wicket of Shubman Gill.

He starts cautiously, pushing one to extra cover but finding no run. A few balls later, he gets off the mark with a gentle single towards deep square leg, settling into rhythm. Another soft nudge into the leg side brings another easy run as he rotates strike smartly.

Sunrisers Hyderabad keep things tight, and Buttler ends the over with a compact defensive stroke, showing intent but no risk.

Just 2 runs and a wicket from the over -- disciplined bowling keeps Gujarat Titans at 17 for 1 after 3 overs.

GT off a good start

GT 5-0 (1 Ovs) vs SRH | SCORECARD

Gujarat Titans walk out in a special lavender jersey today, showing their support for cancer awareness and treatment -- a powerful gesture before the cricket takes over.

At the crease, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan open the innings, while Pat Cummins takes charge with the new ball for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Cummins starts tight and probing, hitting a good length straight away. Sudharsan gets off the mark with a soft push back to the bowler--no run. He then works a couple of quick singles around the corner, including a neat flick behind square that keeps the scoreboard moving.

Gill looks composed but is kept quiet, tapping one straight to mid-wicket and then watching out a disciplined final ball of the over.

Just 5 runs come from the opening over -- a controlled, cautious start in a high-stakes clash.

SRH opt to bowl first vs GT in Ahmedabad

image

We're set for the toss in Ahmedabad. Shubman Gill and Pat Cummins walk out to the middle amid a buzzing crowd.

Pat Cummins calls heads -- and it's heads! Sunrisers Hyderabad have no hesitation--they choose to field first, ready to chase under lights in this high-pressure clash.

The SRH captain explains that it's their first look at this ground, and they want to understand the conditions under lights before chasing.

"It might get easier later," he says, calling it a mix of reading the pitch and gut instinct.

With just three games left, he adds, there's nothing to hold back now --SRH have earned the right to go all in. No changes for Hyderabad.

Shubman Gill is calm and in agreement. He too would've bowled first, noting that the surface looks better than in the last couple of games. Gujarat Titans also go unchanged.

And the stakes couldn't be higher -- whoever wins here goes straight to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.

SRH vs GT could decide playoff race

image

As the IPL 2026 season enters its decisive final stretch, the playoff race is finely poised, with second-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad and third-placed Gujarat Titans set for a high-stakes clash in Ahmedabad that could reshape the top-four picture.

Both sides are locked on 14 points alongside league leaders Royal Challengers Bengaluru, making net run rate a crucial factor as the margins for error continue to shrink.

Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, have staged a strong comeback after a slow start, built around the consistency of Gill and Sai Sudharsan at the top. The addition of experienced overseas stars like Jos Buttler, along with all-round depth from Washington Sundar, has strengthened their balance. Their bowling unit, featuring Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, and Rashid Khan, has begun clicking at the right time.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have thrived on explosive batting, with Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen powering their aggressive approach. Their ability to cross 200 regularly has made them one of the most dangerous sides, but early collapses and inconsistent middle-order resistance remain concerns.

With both teams peaking at the right time, Tuesday's encounter could prove decisive in shaping the IPL 2026 playoff race.
