Young lofts Jadeja over the fielder at mid-on but the timing is not that great for just a single. Ravindra sweeps the spinner for another run to level scores.

Young cuts Ashwin for a boundary as New Zealand win by eight wickets.

This is their first Test win in India after a long wait of 36 years, with their last victory coming way back, during the 1988-89 series.

Young played a solid knock of 45 not out as did well under pressure early on, while Ravindra continued his good form with a sparkling innings of 39 not out. The duo put on 72 runs to carry the Kiwis to an emphatic victory.

The decision to bat backfired for India as they were shot out for 46 -- their lowest Test score in a home Test match.

India made a spirited comeback on Day 4 as they raked up 462 in their second innings.

Sarfaraz Khan top-scored for India in their second innings with 150 while Rishabh Pant made 99. At one stage, India looked on course to set the Kiwis a challenging target before their pacers triggered a lower order collapse.

William O'Rourke took 3/92 while Matt Henry bagged 3/102 in a superb spell with the second new ball on Day 4.

India lost their last seven wickets for 62 runs which proved decisive.

This is only the third Test victory for New Zealand in India.
