Africa XI vs Asia XI

Asia XI batsmen Sourav Ganguly and Mahela Jayawardene take a drinks break during their first ODI of the Afro-Aisa Cup in Bangalore on Wednesday.

Mahela Jayawardene and Mohammad Yousuf scored half centuries as Asia XI posted a commanding 317 for nine against Africa XI. The Africans fought brilliantly through South Africa's Shaun Pollock but fell short by 34 runs.

Jayawardene, who made a match-winning hundred against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final in April, struck seven fours and a huge straight six off debutant Morne Morkel in his 62-ball 65.
