Resuming the day at 77 for 2, England started on a bright note as the overnight batsmen Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen looked for some quick runs and got them without much discomfort.
Vaughan (in picture) was out when he tried to drive away from the body but could only succeed in edging it on to his stumps.
He made 30 off 75 balls with five fours and his partnership with Pietersen was worth 59 runs from 144 balls.
