Simon Jones repeated Shane Warne's feat in the epic series when he struck with his first ball of an Ashes battle.
Jones had Damien Martyn caught behind for two off four balls.
Three wickets fell in 15 balls as Australia were reduced to 66 for four.
Jones made it 87 for five when Michael Clarke fell lbw for 11. He had figures of 10-0-48-2 as Australia went for lunch at 97 for 5.
