Tendulkar's top ten

155 vs Australia in Chennai, 1998

Annihilation was the only thing on his mind when Tendulkar took strike against the Australians in the 1998 series.

He took apart the Aussie bowlers for his first double hundred in first class cricket during the warm-up game in Mumbai and then went on to slam 155 in the first Test of the series.

His preparation for the series was almost legendary: he scuffed area outside the leg-stump and asked the net bowlers to bowl him there.

His face-off against the ace leg-spinner Shane Warne proved to be a no-contest as Tendulkar toyed with him and unfurled some outrageous stroke-play to snatch the advantage from the tourists. India won the match by 179 runs and then went on to take the series 2-1.
