Dalmiya disposes

The International Cricket Council released almost the entire World Cup 2003 money it withheld from the Board of Control for Cricket on April 27.

Expressing 'satisfaction' about the ICC's decision to release the funds, the BCCI felt it was vindicated for its stand that the money was 'wrongly' withheld.

BCCI awards pensions

The BCCI announced a monthly pension scheme for India's Test cricketers and umpires -- 174 of them were eligible to receive a monthly pension of Rs 5,000 for life.

The special gesture came in the wake of the BCCI's Platinum Jubilee celebration. The scheme, which the Board has been trying to put together for sometime, finally saw the light of the day.
