India conquer Pindi
India beat Pakistan by an innings and 131 runs in the third Test at Rawalpindi to clinch the series 2-1 and recorded its first series victory over Pakistan in Pakistan.
The visitors won the first Test by 52 runs but lost their way in the second Test in Lahore. They let the hosts come back into the series with a nine-wicket win.
India had taken the advantage in Sri Lanka (2001), England and West Indies (2002) and in Australia (2003-2004) too but then slipped up. In Pakistan, the team kept its nerve.
After taking a first innings lead of 376, India bowled Pakistan out for 245 in the second innings to complete a historic triumph.
