March 17, 2012 08:14 IST

Sania Mirza and her Russian partner Elena Vesnina rallied from a set down to score a hard-fought victory over the Czech combo of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka and enter the final of the WTA Indian Wells tournament.

The second seeds Indo-Russian pair needed an hour and 45 minutes to get the better of third seeded Czechs 5-7, 7-5, 10-3.

Though there was little to chose between the two teams, but Sania and Vesnina kept their nerves to emerge tops.

Sania and Vesnina will meet the US pair of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond.

The top-seeded Americans scored a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Iveta Benesova and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova  in the other semi-final.

Huber and Raymond extended their winning streak to 15 straight matches, and will be attempting to win their fourth straight title following their triumphs in Paris, Doha and Dubai.
