Ace rally driver Gaurav Gill will spearhead India's challenge in the Delhi Championship with MRF, an official support race of the inaugural Indian Grand Prix on October 30 at the Buddh International Circuit at Greater Noida.

Apart from Gill, seven other Indians -- Kartik Shankar, Ashwin Sundar, Zaamin Jaffer, Arjun Balu, Ameya Walavalkar, Amrittrajit Ghosh and G Vikash Anand -- will be seen in action in the two-race championship to be held alongside the Indian Grand Prix.

For Gill, who finished second in the 2010 Asia Pacific Rally Championship, the 20-driver 'Delhi Championship with MRF' will be his maiden foray into the racing circuit and the Delhi driver is aware of the challenges that lies before him.

"Switching from rallying to racing is very difficult. It's not going to be an easy task because we will have limited time on the track," Gill said.

"I will try to put my experience and give my best shot," he added.

All the participants will drive MRF Formula 1600cc cars in the event, which will be officially conducted by the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) and Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC).
