If you wish for the time you were back in school, you didn’t have a tiring job and wanted to play with dough and wanted designated nap time, may be it’s time you go back to school.
And if you are in New York, there’s a pre-school for adults now. All you need is $333 (Rs 20,859) or $999 (Rs 62,572) for a month-long course.
Welcome to Preschool Mastermind, a unique New York-based program created by Brooklyn resident Michelle Joni.
According to its founder, there’s show-and-tell, arts-and-crafts such as finger paint, games (think musical chairs) and even naps.
Speaking of the significance of the school, Joni said, “I realized all the implications of what we learn in preschool. People come here and get in touch with their inner child. It’s magical.”
The class, which runs through March and weekly, has six students to a class and Joni is assisted by two assistants.
Interestingly, the adults who attend Michelle’s classes confess that they feel no embarrassment about taking the opportunity to revert back to their childhood selves - and some even insist that the classes serve as a perfect way of inject more fun into their lives.
Lawyer Amanda Devereux, 33 is one such participant, and admitted that she attends the classes because they provide her with a forum in which she can try new things and experience some of the fun she used to enjoy as a child.
Sarah Fader, 35, an author and mother-of-two, explained that attending the quirky preschool allows her to embrace her own inner child, after spending a day looking after the needs of her own children at home.
“Being a mom and taking care of children is very taxing,” she said, adding, “I wanted to get back to that feeling of freedom and childlike fun and wonder that I used to have.”
