US cop ends up in epic dance-off with teen after breaking up fight
October 30, 2015 10:32 IST

A Washington, DC police officer arrived on the scene of a fight to break it up, but ended up in a dance-off instead.

On Monday, a female police officer, who is yet to be named, responded to a call on K Street in the US capital where a fight had earlier broken out. That’s when Aaliyah Taylor, a 17-year-old senior at Ballou High School, walked up to the officer and started playing “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” on her phone. Then she did the Nae Nae dance.

The teen was surprised when the cop challenged her to a dance off

The officer, according to Taylor, laughed and said she had far better dance moves than that.

Responding, the teen challenged her to a ‘Nae Nae’ dance-off… and it was on (external link).

“I was in shock,” the teen said later about the cop deciding to join her in her dance.

She added that she is usually wary of police, but the fun dance-off has changed her mind about them.

The teen and the cop bust out some epic moves during the dance-off.

“She gave me a hug and she was like, ‘What's your name?’ and she was smiling. I was like, ‘Oh yeah, we need more cops like you’,” she said.

The teen posted the video to Facebook, where it has received over 600,000 views so far.

The teen wrote, “So basically I was trynna get to this girl but the police told me to go home so we made this deal if I win you leave but if you win I step and she step.”

Reportedly, the teen and the officer declared the dance-off a tie.
