Former telecom minister A Raja, who is an accused in the 2G spectrum scam, has sought Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar’s permission to depose before the Joint Parliamentary Committee, probing the case, and render his side of the argument.

"In the deliberations on the JPC, some of the honourable members have expressed their desire that I should be called upon to depose before it. For the reasons set out in this letter, I respectfully submit that I am willing and indeed anxious to appear before the JPC, which may kindly be directed to summon me as soon as possible,”

Raja writes in the letter.

"The truth of the matter is being suppressed and the top court order contains prejudicial observations. I have been condemned unheard," he adds.

Raja spent 15 months in jail for his role in the 2G scam. He was released from jail in May last year.
