A case was registered against defeated SP candidate from the Babina seat, Chandrapal Yadav, and his supporters after a journalist, Vikas, filed a first information report against them, the police said.
Yadav and his supporters had allegedly clashed with some TV camera-persons on Tuesday during counting of votes. About half-a-dozen mediapersons were injured and their equipment were also broken during the incident.
Meanwhile, some mediapersons sat on a dharna to press for the arrest of the accused even though Yadav met them and regretted for Tuesday's incident.
The authorities said that those responsible for the incident have been identified and would be arrested soon.
Yadav and his supporters were also booked in another case after Navavad SHO, Naseem Khan, filed a complaint against them alleging that they barged into police station and hindered government work.
