Two militants were killed in an overnight security force operation in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A defence spokesman said security forces surrounded a house in Naina village of Pulwama district on Tuesday after receiving information about the presence of a group of heavily armed militants inside it.
“As the security forces challenged the hiding militants, they opened fire triggering a gunfight,” added the official.
The official further stated that the cordon around the village was strengthened on Tuesday evening after more reinforcements were rushed in. "The operation resumed at the first light this morning.”
“The operation continued whole night and two holed up militants have been killed so far,” the spokesman said.
“The operation is still on,” he added.
