Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday visited Bishada village in Greater Noida and met the family members of a man lynched for allegedly eating beef there.
“In Dadri to meet Mohammad Ikhlaq’s family,” he tweeted after meeting them.
The Congress Twitter handle also put out pictures of Rahul interacting with the family members of the deceased. Gandhi also met other villagers and asked them about the incident.
“Congress VP Rahul Gandhi in Dadri meeting Mohammad Ikhlaq’s family,” the party Twitter handle INC India said.
Congress has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his “silence” and condemn the Dadri lynching incident.
Iqlakh was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish critically injured by a 200-strong mob which had barged into their house on Monday night following rumours that the family had consumed beef.
