A minor girl was allegedly gangraped in the city by five school students over a month ago and CDs and MMS of the act were circulated, according to an First Information Report lodged by Bihar Women's Commission.
Commission member Chandramukhi Devi said on Wednesday the alleged incident took place at Rajvanshi Nagar here on June 14 and came to light yesterday in a news report. "The commission took suo moto cognisance of the report and I myself took down the victim's statement on Tuesday," Chandramukhi Devi said.
Director General of police Abhayanand was informed of the incident and the FIR was registered by the commission in the women police station in Patna on Wednesday.
Bihar police have started an investigation into it, City Superintendent of police Jayant Kant said, adding, a case under sections of Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act were lodged with the women police station.
