Maoists on Tuesday night blew up the ancestral house of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Kameshwar Baitha in Palamau district.
"A group of Maoists stuffed dynamite in the vacant house of Baitha before triggering the blast at Danchabar village in Bishrampur, about 55 km from Medininagar," Superintendent of Police Anup Mathew said.
He said the house was vacant and a police team was rushed to the spot. Baitha, who was arrested on charges of 50-Maoist related cases, had obtained bail from the Patna high court on Saturday.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader had held a press conference on Monday and demanded that the state government should empower panchayat bodies for speedy development.
Baitha, who had won on JMM ticket from Palamau in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, is facing Maoist-related cases in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
