A young researcher on Maoists, who was believed to have gone missing along with her facilitator from Jamui district in Bihar, is safe, police said on Thursday.

"Juhi, 23, has been doing her research work on Maoists inJamui district and is safe," Superintendent of Police Raj Narayan Singh said.

Singh said the researcher had refused to disclose her wherabouts on the grounds that it would disturb her study.

Earlier, Juhi had said she was fine and continuing with her study. "I am fine and doing the research work. It is a false and misguided information that I am traceless," the 23-year-old researcher said over phone.

Asked about her whereabouts, Juhi said she was still in a village in Jamui district and would return once her research work was completed.

Juhi, along with her facilitator, was believed to have gone missing on her way to Jamui railway station to catch a train for Bengaluru on Wednesday. She had visited the Maoist-hit Khaira block in the district a fortnight ago to conduct her research.

During her stay, Juhi had come in contact with a local Pradip Kumar Das who later became her guide and facilitator.
