Seventeen-year-old Prashant Kumar Jha was produced by the police in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashok Kumar Gupta amid tight security and was sent to a remand home.

The girl, who was found with the boy and brought here along with him, will be produced in the court in the evening, Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said.

The Madhubani police brought the boy and girl, who had eloped in September, to the town late Thursday night by road after taking them off a train at Muzaffarpur.

Though the court premises were virtually converted into a fortress, the police had a tough time managing the crowd gathered outside.
