"During former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri's time Indian was proud of its "jai jawan, jai kisan" slogan... now its (UPA government's) new slogan is 'mar jawan, mar kisan' (die soldiers, die farmers)," the BJP's PM candidate said at a rally in Jat dominated belt of Nagaur district Rajasthan.
He recalled the Emergency period saying, Congress has been making people suffer in this country and its defeat is certain in this election.
The Gujarat chief minister asked the people to name one person who can save the Congress. "A person who cannot save the party, how will he save the nation," he said in a veiled attack on Rahul Gandhi.
"The central government's defeat is certain. It is time to decide how to give them a farewell. We should give Congress such a farewell that India does not see such a government in seven generations," he said.
When Indian soldiers' heads are chopped off by Pakistani jawans, terrorists stab them and farmers commit suicide in the country, "our heads bow in shame.
"This is an unprecedented situation when Indian soldiers are the most unsafe as IAF planes are getting crashed, jawans are dying in submarine incidents, terrorists intruding from across the border are stabbing soldiers," he said.
"At the same time, the number of farmers committing suicide is in lakhs, more than the soldiers being killed in the country. In such a worst situation which we have never seen before, can the government sitting in Delhi dare to say 'jai jawan, jai kisan'. Now its new slogan is 'mar jawan, mar kisan' (die soldiers, die farmers)," he said.
A country, where a farmer cannot live with a respect, has no future, Modi said.
"If you want the nation to be saved, then farmers are to be saved, soldiers are to be saved, villages are not only to be saved, but they should be taken forward," he said and claimed Congress does not have any strength or capability to save the nation.
"Congress ko pata nahin, vo julm jayada karte hain' (Congress does not realise, its commits more atrocities). During Emergency, Mrs Gandhi had turned the nation into jail... when the country woke up, she was routed from every corner.
"In this election too, it is certain that the Congress will be routed."
"The government sitting in Delhi will certainly be wiped out, now the question is for you, how to give it a farewell... I ask you that give the Congress the farewell that seven generation of Hindustan will never such misrule and bad days in their lives," he said as dusty winds swept the Mela Maidan in the little-known town of Jayal.
"After Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government, Mrs Sonia Gandhi was ruling the nation.... Shehzade maja le rahein hain, karna-dharna kuch nahin hai, jimmedari kuch hai nahin, bilkul free hain... jaise Shehzade mangal grah se aye hain (Shehzade is enjoying, relishing, no work to do, no responsibility to share, totally free, as if he has come from Mars)," said attacking the Congress Vice President.
Modi also too a dig at Ashok Gehlot saying "one who could not save Rajasthan has come to Gujarat to give injection to his party."
"We will win more than 300 seats in the countru and the state will see all 25 lotuses will bloom in our favour," he said.
The MLAs from 8 constituencies were also present at the rally along with BJP candidate from Jayal CR Choudhary.
