A delivery boy of a company was robbed of Rs 722,000 by three persons, including a woman, posing as Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths, at Nagpada in central Mumbai.

According to police, the victim and a colleague were travelling in a vehicle to deposit the money at a bank in Bhuleshwar, on Wednesday.

En route, their vehicle was stopped near a signal and two persons entered their taxi. The duo then flashed 'identity cards' and claimed to be CBI officials. The men, in their mid-30s, directed the taxi to another destination, police said.

After the taxi reached the specified place, an accomplice traveling in another vehicle joined the accused. Flashing a similar card, she took possession of the bag and disappeared from the scene.

The duo then directed the taxi to another spot where they asked the victim's colleague to get off. After driving further, they pushed the victim out of the vehicle.

A manhunt has been launched for the absconding accused, police said.
