Stand-up comedian Vir Das plays a similar character, though with a twist, in Hasmukh, where he doubles up as a murderer and cracks the kind of jokes he wouldn't in real life.

 

Jaideep Ahlawat
Pataal Lok (Amazon Prime)

You can't keep a good man down for long!

On the scene for a decade and trying to find a worthy place for himself in the industry, Jaideep Ahlawat's Paatal Lok has turned out to be a turning point in his career.

As a cop with a conscience, he has given a superb account for himself.

On the Bollywood scene for 25 years and quite active in the Hindi film arena as well, Jimmy Sheirgill has ensured that he is seen on at least one medium every three months.

He made a superb debut on the OTT platform with Rangbaaz Phir Se, where he played the protagonist.

Now he is set to do that again with E Niwas' Your Honor out soon.

 

Abhishek Banerjee

What a remarkable impression he has made!

He first made heads turn as Jena in the horror comedy Stree and later made his presence felt in Mirzapur.

But the turning point for Abhishek Banerjee has been Paatal Lok, where he shone despite not a single dialogue to his credit.

Though he made his Bollywood debut a while ago, Tanuj Virwani found his true calling in Web series.

First up, was Inside Edge where he impressed everyone.

Later, he went grey in Poison while in Code M, he played a lawyer.

He has a busy year ahead with three series in a row -- Kamathipura, Cartel and Inside Edge 3.

 

Vineet Singh

Bard of Blood (Netflix)

A student of the Anurag Kashyap school of film-making, Vineet Singh has been around for a while.

The Mukkabaaz actor now stars in two Shah Rukh Khan's productions, Bard of Blood with Emraan Hashmi and Betaal.

A poster boy of the parallel world, he has created a space on OTT as well.

Though he has made his big screen debut with Shubh Mangal Zayada Saavdhan earlier this year, Jitendra has already wooed audiences in Kota Factory and Panchayat, which released a few months ago.

 

Karan Tacker
Special Ops (Disney+ Hotstar)

Karan Tacker announced his arrival on OTT with Neeraj Pandey's Special Ops, which is among the best Web series recently.

As the man on the field who executes operations based on the instructions from his handler Kay Kay Menon, he brought the right mix of heroism and realism into play.

 

Sudhanshu Pandey

Hundred (Disney+ Hotstar)

Sudhanshu Pandey first impressed with Khiladi 420 when he took on Akshay Kumar no less.

Ever since, he has done a number of films.

He made his Web series debut with Hundred recently.

He will soon spearhead a show of his own, The Casino, where he plays the suave owner.

He was Rajshri's discovery when he starred in Isi Life Mein...!

The film wasn't successful, but Akshay Oberoi was noticed as an actor.

A decade later, he is keeping himself busy with as many as four Web series in just three years.

He turned into an older man in Hum Tum and Them, and Illegal has just released on OTT.
