Urmila in an English film!

Urmila Matondkar has replaced Lara Dutta in director Tanuja Chandra's English film.

 

Emraan (who will debut in Footpath, releasing August 15) will play the male lead. The yet-untitled film will be shot entirely in New York.

Tanuja says, "The film is a love story between a Muslim boy and a Sikh girl, set against the 9/11 incident in the US. We will soon leave for New York shoot for the film. It will be a start-to-finish schedule."

The film will be produced by Lal Dadlani (Kehta Hain Dil Baar Baar), who is also an overseas distributor.

 

"The film is being made primarily for the global market," adds Tanuja.

The director of films like Dushman and Sur, has now finished Filmstar, starring Mahima Chaudhry. The film is slated for a September release.
