The cricketer, currently under the scanner for his alleged involvement in match-fixing in the Indian Premiere League, was initially hesitant to come on the show.
A source close to the show reveals, "Sreesanth was approached two months ago after he was released from jail.
"Jhalak... wanted to provide him with a platform to tell his story about the match-fixing allegations but he refused initially. He had supposedly thought he'd clear his name and get back to cricket. But after he was banned, Sreesanth warmed up to the idea of doing the show."
The former cricketer was finalised this week.
"Sreesanth is preparing for a career in music and acting. He sees Jhalak as a stepping stone to movies. And yes, he will be talking about the match-fixing charges while on the show," the source adds.
Other celebrity contestants who have been finalised are singer-composer Sukhwinder Singh, actress Sophie Choudry, television actors Mohit Raina, Mouni Roy, Karan Thacker and Purab Kohli.
