Buzz is that Madhuri Dixit, who recently gave birth to a baby boy, will perform with singing sensation Adnan Sami in the US, where Sami is on an extensive tour.

Dixit's secretary Rikku Rakesh Nath is promoting the concert. Nath's son Karan and client Amisha Patel have confirmed their participation in the show.

Zayed: Cuts like a knife

The debacle of Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne (Esha Deol, Salil Ankola) has left its debutante Zayed Khan an unhappy man.

Adding to his woes is the news that many of his scenes in Farah Khan's directorial debut, Main Hoon Na (Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Amrita Arora) have been slashed at the editing table.

Sohail Khan was the original choice for Zayed's role, until big brother Salman had a spat with SRK and Aishwarya Rai on the sets of Aziz Mirza's Chalte Chalte (SRK, Rani Mukerji, Jas Arora). Ash, as a result, was replaced by Rani.

The Hinglish connection

Though her new release Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye (Raveena Tandon, Dia Mirza, Rinkie Khanna, Sushmita Sen, Mahesh Manjrekar, Shweta Menon, Divya Dutta) failed to get good reviews, Namrata Shirodkar isn't sulking.

On the contrary, the former beauty queen says, "Akshaye Khanna, Saif Ali Khan and I have been given a bound Hinglish [partly Hindi, partly English] script to read."

Shirodkar refuses to divulge any more details, saying, "It is too early. I am reading it. The script looks good. Time will tell whether all three of us will sign it or not."

Sonu's pious intentions

Singer Sonu Nigam has decided to build a temple in his parents' name, called the Shobha Agam Kumar Temple (Shobha and Agam are Sonu's parents).

At a recent concert in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, attended by a crowd of 10,000 people, Nigam said the entire proceedings of the show would go towards construction of the temple.

Another one bites the dust

Following a rather sedate debut in Bas Yun Hi (Purab Kohli, Nandita Das, Rajiv Gopalkrishnan, Sameer Malhotra, Sandhya Shetty, Tannishtha Chatterjee), Parmita Katkar will now appear in an item number in Pankuj Parashar's Inteqam: The Perfect Game.

Parmita was among the Top Five in the Miss India 2003 contest and will represent the country at the Miss Asia-Pacific contest in Manila, Philippines, later this year.

A national level swimming and athletics medallist from Bangalore, Parmita also features in Padam Kumar's Supari (Uday Chopra, Rahul Dev, Nandita Das, Purab Kohli, Aakash Saigal, Nauheed Cyrusi).

Apparently, Parashar decided to cast her in Inteqam after watching a tape of her performance during the Miss India 2002 contest.
