Madhuri Dixit and Dr Sriram Nene are the proud parents of a boy.

Madhuri gave birth at a Denver hospital on March 18 [Holi].

Her secretary Rikku Rakeshnath said, "Both mother and son are hale and hearty. She was discharged from the hospital and is now back home within a day."

The actress had refused to go in for an ultrasonography to determine the sex of her child.

The last time she was in Mumbai to launch her signature range of cosmetics by Emami, she said she did not want to "kill the suspense by predetermining the sex of our child".

Madhuri was last seen on screen as courtesan Chandramukhi in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas.
