Ajay Jadeja is batting on a brand new pitch. And enjoying every minute it.
But the former Indian cricketer, who makes his debut on the big screen with the Suniel Shetty production Khel, which releases on October 2, made it clear that cricket would always remain his 'priority number one'.
"I have not signed any films at the moment because I will not be able to allot any dates until the cricket season ends," he said. He also said playing for the country was the biggest honour anyone could hope for and could not be compared with acting in a film.
Actor-producer Suniel Shetty was all praise for Jadeja and former Miss India Celina Jaitley, who also makes her debut in Khel, calling them the 'surprise package of the film'.
"Ajay is as good an actor as he is cricketer. He is a naturally talented performer. Although the film stars Sunny Deol and me, I am confident both of them will play a big part in its success," he said.

Asked if he was nervous about the film's imminent release, Jadeja said, "In cricket, there are no retakes, no waiting for Friday, no actor and director. So there is no tension. But, in a film, there are so many expectations you have to live up to that a little tension is normal."
Jadeja considered 'dancing with the heroine' a huge attraction. But, he added, he was a novice compared to big stars like Deol and Shetty.
