Many actors have tried their hand at playback singing despite no formal training.

Hema Malini sang a song with Kishore Kumar in Haath Ki Safaai while Kareena Kapoor lent her voice to a beautiful love ballad in Dev, composed by the late Aadesh Shrivastava.

Recently, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan showed off their vocal skills in their respective films Entertainment and Kick.

And now, another actor is joining the bandwagon.

Reports are doing the rounds that Ajay Devgn will sing the title song for his directorial film Shivaay for composer Mithoon.

Funnily, when Devgn turned 'singer' in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, there was a there was a joke about how badly he sings in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum…Dil De Chuke Sanam.

In the blockbuster film, Aishwarya Rai’s father Vikram Gokhale, who is a Hindustani classical vocalist, asks his future son-in-law Devgn to sing.

Devgn croons two lines of Chingari koi bhadke, and everyone agrees, he can’t sing.

Was that just acting? Or has Ajay Devgn’s singing improved since then? We shall soon find out.
