Telugu producer Bandla Ganesh has remade the Hindi film Aashiqui 2 in Telugu and titled it Nee Jathaga Nenundalli.  It has been produced under his Paramesvara Arts banner.

Sachiin J Joshi plays the role that Aditya Roy Kapur did in the original. Debutante Nazia Hussain essays the lead role played by Shraddha Kapoor in the original. The film is directed by Jaya Ravindra.

Sachiin Joshi, who made his debut in 2002 with the Telugu film Mounamelanoyi and subsequently did Ninu Chudaka Nenundalenu (2002) and Orey Pandu in 2005, is acting in a Telugu film after almost nine years.

In between he acted in Hindi films, his last release being Jackpot in 2013.

“I am very excited to do the role. The industry here is growing, the audience is growing and the Hindi film was already successful. We wanted to make a good film better. We focused on Telugu nuances and good lyrics,” says Sachiin.

The actor says he worked very hard on his role of a drunkard singer, Raghav Jayaram. “The character doesn’t appreciate life. It was a physically and mentally draining drama.”

Rao Ramesh, Prudhvi, Anitha Choudhary and Shashank are other members of the cast.

Chandra Bose has written the lyrics for the songs composed by Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly and Ankit Tiwari. The film was mainly shot in Hyderabad. The songs were filmed in Goa and abroad.

Nee Jathaga Nenundalli is scheduled to release on August 22.
