Emerging brands in the Indian smartphone market are gaining momentum.

According to CMR's India Emerging Smartphone Brands Report 2016, one in every four smartphones sold in 2016 would be from an emerging brand.

In 2015, 15.2 million smartphones were shipped from emerging brands, which is set to double this year.

CMR defines 'emerging' brands as those which were launched in India in 2013, or after.

"These brands are focusing on offering value for money products, for buyers to get the best of specifications at affordable prices," Faisal Kawoosa, lead analyst, telecom at CMR said.
