The phone looks like the Moto G 3rd Gen, and almost all its features are the same.
All but one: As the name suggests, the Moto G Turbo has a better processor.
Motorola has bumped up the processor from Snapdragon 410 in the Moto G 3rd Gen to Snapdragon 615 with 2GB RAM in its newest instalment.
This was enough for me to try and push the Turbo to its limit. Without downloading apps, other than the default ones, I noticed that the Turbo was far superior to its predecessor.
Most smartphones lag a little while loading the camera but with the Turbo, it was a breeze.
After the Turbo passed the easy test, I downloaded all RAM-heavy apps and games that I could think of.
I played Injustice and Order and Chaos - both of which are multiplayer - and the phone didn't let me down.
I installed Pixlr, an image editing app, which uses a lot of RAM and was quite happy with the phone's performance.
However, the phone still doesn't match up to the Asus Zenfone 2. The Latter wins hands down in the performance department.
The Turbo - like the Moto G 3rd Gen - comes with a non-removable 2,470 mAh battery, with one difference. The Turbo has the fast charging feature.
It charged to about 30 per cent in just 17 minutes. Instead of charging it to 100 per cent, I decided to test its battery life at 30 per cent.
With messaging, internet browsing and four calls, the battery lasted for over two-and-a-half hours.
I decided to test the camera of the Turbo. Even though the Turbo retains the 13-megapixel (MP) primary and 5MP secondary camera, the output images were sharper than its predecessor.
All the other camera features are the same as that in the Moto G 3rd Gen.
The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, which will be eventually upgraded to Android 6 Marshmallow.
Priced at Rs 14,999, the Moto G Turbo is probably the best phone to go for in its price segment.
