Rediff reader D N Basavaraj, 40 from Davangere tells us about his first job and salary.
I graduated in agricultural economics from Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth in Dapoli, Maharashtra.
In 2005, I got my first job in CIMAP, Bengaluru as a project assistant.
My first salary was Rs 4,500.
It was a different feeling -- to be independent.
I was very happy when I received my salary.
As I was living in Bengaluru, away from home, I couldn't splurge.
I spent most of it on my living expenses.
I am currently working as research and development manager at Green Agro Pack Private Limited in Hebbalu, Karnataka.
