South Africa's best batsman, A B de Villiers (344), and best bowler, Imran Tahir (316), figure in the top 4 in a World Cup in which the bat has matched the ball evenly; although, among bowlers, spinners have done better than fast bowlers.

* Runs (scored) | Sixes | Fours | Strike rate | Bat-pts: Batting points | W: Wickets taken | Eco: Economy rate | Bowl-pts: Bowling points | Field-pts: fielding points | M: Matches played | MVPI: Most valuable player index = sum of batting, bowling and fielding points | AvMVPI = MVPI/M | *Run outs are counted as 1 (wicket) for a direct hit, and 0.5 (wicket) if the fielder is an equal participant in a run out dismissal.
It is early days yet, but expect Afridi to earn the 'purple cap' for most wickets in WC 2011.
The contenders for the 'orange cap' for most runs are A B de Villiers, Andrew Strauss, Kumar Sangakkara, Sehwag, Jonathan Trott and Tendulkar.
There isn't an iota of doubt that Tendulkar will?be the most popular winner. Oh, the ovation he received at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday!
