Sachin Tendulkar's 40th birthday, wish him

April 24, 2013

Sachin Tendulkar turns 40 on Wednesday.

Even as the legendary batsman enters the fifth decade of his life, he is still going great guns.

The ‘Master Blaster’ may have decided to quit the one-day version of the game late last year, but looks set to continue playing the longer version.

In fact, he is just two shy of reaching the 200 Tests milestone.

Team India heads to South Africa later this year and Tendulkar will definitely achieve the feat in the series.

For someone who owns all the major landmarks in cricket, save Sir Don Bradman's average (99.94), it will be yet another testimony of his class and fortitude.

On Wednesday, Tendulkar will turn out for Mumbai Indians when they take on holders Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League match at the EdenGardens.

From what we hear, the Cricket Association of Bengal has already planned a big party for him.

You too can celebrate the occasion by joining rediff.com in greeting the batting icon.

May the year ahead be full of runs and success.
