A summary of all the Ranji Trophy results from the matches played on Tuesday
New Delhi: Delhi spinners Manan Sharma and Vikas Mishra took an hour to grab the remaining four wickets as the Ishant Sharma-led team beat Railways by an innings and 105 runs in their second Group A league match of the Ranji Trophy, on Tuesday.
With seven points including a bonus courtesy of their innings victory, Delhi are top of Group A with 10 points from two games.
Starting the final day at 157 for six, Railways were all out for 206 in their second innings as Manan (3 for 67 in 17 overs) and Mishra (4 for 37 in 19.5 overs) were the wreckers-in-chief.
Railways had scored 110 runs in their first innings after Delhi's healthy total of 447.
They could add only 49 runs to their overnight score with the last three wickets falling in a jiffy with only a run added to the board.
Skipper Ishant Sharma cleaned up Avinash Yadav for 14 to make it 165 for seven for the Railways.
With the defeat looking imminent, Anureet Singh (27) decided to hit out, adding 40 runs with the dogged Nitin Bhille, who scored a patient 73 before the former was dismissed by Mishra.
Bhille was out edging one off Manan to Anuj Rawat behind the stumps and Mishra then capped off a fine comeback with last wicket which meant that he finished with seven wickets in the match.
Manan was named as the man of the match for his century and a match-haul of seven wickets.

Karnataka crush Assam
Mysuru: Karnataka began their 2017 Ranji Trophy campaign with a bang without their big guns like Manish Pandey and K L Rahul, defeating Assam by an innings and 121 runs in the Group A match.
With this win, Karnataka are placed second in the points table with seven points behind Delhi who have 10 from two matches.
Sent into bat, Assam put were skittled out for 145 in their first innings. In reply, Karnataka declared their first innings at 469 for seven, riding high on centuries by Ravikumar Samarth and Krishnappa Gowtham.
Assam did not have answers to the bowling attack of the hosts led by Gowtham and Shreyas Gopal in the first innings and Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun and Gowtham in the second.
The Assam innings folded for 203 in their second essay, giving Karnataka their first win of their season's opener.
Gowtham hogged the limelight both with bat and ball. He cracked a match-winning 149 in the first innings and then bagged seven wickets in the match, four of them coming in the first innings.
Karnataka were on the cusp of an outright win on Monday itself after restricting Assam to 169 for six as the third day's play was stopped early due to poor light.
Requiring 155 runs to avoid an innings defeat, Assam lost the remaining four wickets after adding just 34 runs to their overnight score.
Mithun bagged three wickets for 47 after going wicketless in the first innings.
Karnataka will play their second match against Hyderabad at Shivamogga from October 24 to October 27.

Captain Parthiv guides Gujarat to victory
Nadiad: Defending champions Gujarat started their Ranji Trophy Group B encounter on a winning note against Kerala despite some anxious moments during their low-scoring chase.
Chasing a target of 106, Gujarat started the day at 22 for one with the Parthiv Patel-led side needing only 83 runs on the final day.
However, overnight not out batsman Chintan Gaja (4) was out early with the addition of nine runs.
Opener Priyank Panchal then added 24 runs for the third wicket along with Bhargav Merai (21) before the former then ran himself out with Gujarat still needing 50 runs.
Manprit Juneja was the fourth batsman to get dismissed with the team total on 75.
Jalaj Saxena and Sachin Baby the increased opposition's woes with couple of quick wickets, leaving Gujarat reeling at a score of 81 for six, needing another 24 runs for a win.
It was the captain Parthiv Patel, who played small but crucial knock in company of Chirag Gandhi as they shared 27 runs for the seventh wicket to take their team to victory.
Parthiv played an important innings of 18 not out from 22 balls, while Gandhi supported him well by with 11 not out.
At one stage, it seemed like Kerala had made a remarkable comeback but Parthiv's experience proved to be the key.
Meanwhile, it was a dream debut for former India leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, who played his maiden first-class game for Gujarat.
He had shifted his base to the state before the start of the season and finished with impressive bowling figures of eight for 135.

TN settle for 3 pts vs Tripura as weather plays spoilsport
Chennai: Tamil Nadu had to settle for three points from their drawn Ranji Trophy Group C match against
Tripura as rain and bad light played spoilsport on the last two days, including today.
Tamil Nadu declared at overnight total of 357 for 4, a lead of 99 runs, in an effort to push for a victory and maximum points.
However, only 34 overs of play was possible on the final day today and the visitors lost three wickets to finish at 91 for three.
Tamil Nadu started the day with spinners Rahil Shah and Test star Ravichandran Ashwin. Left-arm spinner Shah dismissed Tripura openers Bishal Ghosh (3) and Udiyan Bose (12) in his first spell, to reduce the visitors to 21 for 2, still 78 runs in arrears.
Bad light stopped play for some time before play resumed again.
Rajesh Banik (19) and Smit Patel (35 not out) came together to add 41 runs for the third wicket in 17.2 overs, before the former fell to the off-spin of M S Washington Sundar.
Tripura did not lose any more wickets in the next 10.4 overs before bad light stopped play again.
Play never resumed subsequently.
The visiting team collected one point for the draw, while Tamil Nadu got three.
Tamil Nadu now has four points from two matches and next takes on Mumbai in Mumbai from October 24 in a crucial match in Group C.

Milestone man Dinda gets 10-for, Shami takes 8 in Bengal win
Raipur: Ashok Dinda made it a memorable 100th first-class game for himself with figures of 10 for 47, overshadowing India star Mohammed Shami's match-haul of eight wickets as Bengal walloped Chhattisgarh by an innings and 160 runs in a Ranji Trophy Group D encounter.
Following on, Chhattisgarh started the final day at 229 for 5 but lost the final five wickets for only 30 more runs as they were all out for 259 in their second innings.
The match was over in less than 12 overs as Shami and Dinda shared the spoils between them.
While Dinda's second innings figures were 3/26 in addition to 7/21 in the first essay, it was Shami, who made the difference in the second innings with six for 61.
Shami's match figures were 8 for 105 -- a reminder to the selectors that he is in fine form. Most of Shami's wickets were either leg-before or bowled to right-hand batsmen -- an indication that he was getting the ball to jag back. Dinda, on the other hand, bowled his customary hit the deck the stuff with occasional fuller delivery getting his 23rd five-wicket and sixth 10-wicket haul in first class cricket.
Dinda is one of the leading wicket-takers in Bengal's cricketing history with 364 scalps from 100 first-class games.
