Anil Kumble turned 47 on Tuesday, and it wasn’t surprising that birthday greetings poured in from all quarters for the legendary cricketer.
A former India captain and coach, Kumble claimed 619 wickets in Tests and 337 in ODIs before calling it quits in 2008.
He finished as India's highest wicket-taker in Tests and only the third overall, behind fellow-spinners Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.
One of Indian cricket's biggest match-winners, he also enjoyed an impressive one-year tenure head coach of the Indian team before difference with captain Virat Kohli forced him to resign earlier this year.
Current and former team-mates took to Twitter to wish Kumble, popularly referred to as 'Jumbo' by his team mates.
