Kings XI Punjab batsman Glenn Maxwell was reprimanded by match referee Roshan Mahanama for showing dissent at an umpiring decision during his team's crushing eight-wicket defeat against Delhi Daredevils in an Indian Premier League cricket tournament match on Friday.

A statement from the match officials read, "In the VIVO IPL match in Delhi last evening, Glen Maxwell of Kings XI Punjab was reprimanded by the Match Referee for showing dissent at the umpire's decision. Maxwell admitted to the level 1 offence (Article 2.1.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials) and accepted the sanction."

Maxwell had a poor match as he was out without scoring and gave away 11 runs in the only over that he bowled.

The Daredevils beat Punjab by eight wickets.
