Kings XI Punjab coach Darren Lehmann has said his batsmen need to bat out the full twenty overs and put more runs on the board to give the bowlers a chance to defend the total.
"Our bowling and fielding has been really good. But what has obviously let us down is the batting. We need to bat out the full overs and score a bit more runs to give our bowlers a chance," Lehmann said on Monday.
After two successive defeats against Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab are now looking at bolstering their batting line-up ahead of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.
Lehmann sounded optimistic about turning around his team's fortunes in home conditions.
"We have not been able to execute our game plan properly but we hope to win at home and give our fans something to cheer about. Everyone is training very hard, so I can't really blame anyone. We are keeping faith in the youngsters and hopefully they will deliver this time," said Lehmann.
