With spin the chink in England's armoury, it seems their misery on the tour of India will continue in Mumbai as well.
Compared to the sporting track on offer during the World Cup final, the one at the Wankhede stadium, which hosts Sunday's fourth ODI in the five-match series, wears a dry and slower look.
The pitch that saw India chase down 274 successfully against Sri Lanka to win the World Cup, is unlikely to produce a similar cracker of a match.
"The pitch will be dry and slow. Will definitely be a slow turner," curator Sudhir Naik said on Friday evening.
"It will be different than what we saw in the World Cup final. Then, it had something in it for both bowlers and batsmen. But this one will be different," he added.
"It's a win the toss and bat first kind of pitch, as it will slow down as the game progresses," the former India opener and Mumbai Ranji player opined.
This will be India's first match at the venue after the World Cup final.
The Wankhede had hosted two non-India league matches in the World Cup before the final and is due to host India-West Indies third and final Test from November 22 to 26.
