Australia's scoreline has gone into the history books on a dramatic first day of the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge on Thursday.

Australia's innings was wrapped up in just 18.3 overs -- the quickest any team has ever been bowled out in the first innings in the 138-year history of Test cricket.

What happened to Australia’s batsmen we really don’t know, but the social media did to go wild. Take a look at reactions to the collapse.

In the world of Twitter, putting your thoughts into a mere 140 characters can be tough but here we have the entire Australian first innings in one tweet!

It was the most popular message on the social networking sites.

“And we thought Greece was in trouble,” tweeted @samdebrito.

BBC Sport tried to sum it up tweeting, “It seems everyone and everything can’t believe the Ashes score.”

Then it went pictorial. “Another look at Australia's batting performance,” @LBrooks11 tweeted with this picture.

“Sat with coffee, chatting about the amazing action at the Ashes. Even my coffee was astonished”, @Grim72ftm wrote on his Twitter handle.
