It's been a long time since the Indian viewers saw a mega-historical-serial on television. After Ramayana and Mahabharat, it had been quite a while since a mega serial of that stature had been aired.
Saagar Arts seems to have made a comeback with their dream production -- Prithviraj Chauhan. The high-budget serial is shot entirely in Baroda.
Lavish sets and reasonably good special effects have contributed to the success of this serial.
However, the usual tantrums of actors being changed during the course of the serial continues -- with the actress slotted to play Sanjukta being replaced even before she came on air!
