India's Suzlon Energy Ltd, a leading manufacturer of wind turbine generators and the world's eighth-largest producer of wind energy in terms of installed capacity, acquired the Belgium-based EVE Holding NV for Euro 465 million.
Through this acquisition, Suzlon now has indirect 100 per cent ownership of Belgium's Hansen Transmissions International NV, along with its subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, United States and South Africa.

The deal was sealed by Suzlon's Netherlands-based wholly owned subsidiary AE-Rotor Holding BV.
Hansen Transmissions is engaged in designing, developing, manufacturing and supplying industrial and wind turbine generator gearboxes.
EVE Holding is owned by Allianz Capital Partners GMBH and its affiliates and Apax Partners Worldwide LLP.
Suzlon has built Asia's largest wind farm, with an installed capacity of 500 megawatts, near Kanyakumari, on India's southernmost tip, where trade winds of 15 miles per hour are common.
