There used to be a time when to foment trouble within India, foreign forces had to pump in arms, train people, smuggle them in.
Now, it would seem all they have to do is deface a statue.
We saw that this year in the case of Meenatai Thackeray's statue in Mumbai and in case of Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue in Kanpur.
All that is needed for mobs to go on rampage is a statue with mud on its face. All you can do is hope the madness will pass. All you can do is fume.
Agreed, symbols are important. But why does such vandalism have to be taken so seriously as to put other people's lives and livelihood at risk?
