The big Indian IT companies will manage it better because they have a broader base. But the mid-tiers, especially those with exposure to BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance), will have the maximum pain. There will be consolidation. So we are in for interesting times!
Do you think the US companies will have a rethink on outsourcing?
I don't think so. It has not reached that far quite yet. American companies that have outsourced already and who have a stable management will see how much more and what else to outsource.
If stability in the customer organisation is not there, and if they have not already outsourced before, then it will take 12-18 months for them to look at outsourcing as an option. Hence, for the new companies, it will take a little bit more time.
